About

The Cavalier Alliance for Rescue, Research & Education was formed in 2014 to focus on senior and special-needs Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. During early 2015, our corporate papers were filed and we received 501c3 non-profit status.  While our focus is on the seniors and special-needs pups, we help cavaliers of all ages as well as those without health challenges.

The Cavalier Alliance operates with a small board including Tonya Andersen, Cheryl Kobren, and Tina Winkler who serve as board members and senior leadership for all of our day-to-day activities.  We also have an active Board of Advisors, including many veterinary professionals, who provide guidance throughout the year.  Our work is done through a network of committed volunteers across the country. Primary volunteer functions include fostering, transport, fundraising, and outreach.

** Note:  We do not have a primary shelter or kennel location.  Our pups are in foster care and meetings are only scheduled with adopters after an application is completed and if the family is a good match for the dog.
