Bailey (adopted)

Adopted Small House TrainedNo Children

bailey carBailey typifies the very best of an adult dog.  He is a perfect gentleman in the house, loves to walk politely on-leash and loves everyone.  He hangs out nicely with the other dog in his foster home and his foster mom has only great things to say about him!

This sweet boy was much loved in his prior family and we are looking for a family to love him just as much in the second half of his life.  Bailey is seven years young, up-to-date on vaccines and a happy boy.  He loves walks, car rides, snacks, hanging with his humans, and other dogs.  His prior family mentioned he loves playing ball but we haven’t seen that in foster care – at least not yet.

Bailey has spent the past two years with young children who were not always gentle with him but always shared their food. As a result, Bailey is significantly overweight at 27 lbs.  His foster family has him on a reasonable amount of kibble and daily walks.  His vet thinks he should be closer to 19 or 20 lbs.  His new family will need to be committed to that for his health.

The ideal family for Bailey would be a calm, quiet one, with someone home most of the day.  He’s always been with another dog so preference will be given to families with another calm small dog for company. Given his past experience with children, we are limiting his placement to homes with children ages 10 and up.

If you are within a reasonable drive of Long Island and want to open your heart to this great boy, please complete our application and email it to us at cavalierhelp@cavalieralliance.org.
