Emmy (adopted)

Adopted Small House Trained

Emmy is a sweet, adult, tricolor Cavalier looking for her forever family.  She came to our program from a family who couldn’t spend the time they had spent with her before and wanted more for her.

Emmy is a easy-going, playful 6 yr old, who loves people.  She gets along with other dogs, travels in the car well, and adapts beautifully to new environments. She sleeps in a crate, but would prefer the bed with her humans.  During the day she enjoys long walks, playing with toys (including fetch and tug with her humans), and romping through the back yard.  She is reliably house-trained and is trustworthy in the house.

Cavalier teeth need care and Emmy’s were no exception.  She recently had a dental and lost 16 of her teeth.  She’s finishing a course of antibiotics to treat the infection and will be done with that next week.  She was previously spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, and 4 lbs overweight.  Her new family should be one committed to her health and her ongoing weight loss.

Emmy has a grade 3 murmur, common to the breed and is asymptomatic. She received a baseline chest X-ray in foster care and those records will go with her and her new family.

Emmy would do well in many environments but most importantly, one where someone is home most of the day, a fenced yard and active walkers.  She would benefit from the company of another cavalier or well-behaved small dog.
