Oreo (adopted)
Just adopted!
The most adorable tripod ever is now ready for his forever home.
Oreo is a 10 month old puppy who has been through a lot in his young life. He’s been neutered, fractured his leg in multiple places, had surgery, spent several weeks on crate rest, was in severe pain due to fracture coming apart, and then went through another surgery to amputate his leg.
Despite all of his prior challenges, Oreo is a happy, playful boy. He now runs like the wind and is making up for all that lost time. He loves playing, snuggling and hanging with the dogs in his foster home. He’s reliably house trained.
The ideal family for Oreo is one who understands he’s still puppy and will be for some time!. He would benefit from a round or two of obedience training – just like most pups. He also needs someone home most of the day, another small, easy going dog for company and a fenced yard so he can run. We have ordered a special harness for him that he will need to wear while romping around. It will give stability to his other front leg and shoulder. He may also benefit from ramps to the couch and bed, and a home with a single story or limited stairs. He moves very well on 3 legs, but keeping the pressure off the front leg – including going down stairs – and keeping him balanced and safe is key.
