Pippa is a sweet, almost 4 month old puppy, who recently had surgery to repair her PDA. She is recovering nicely. Pippa is an energetic puppy who loves to play and loves her chew toys. She loves walks and her leash walking is a work in progress. Her house training is also progressing nicely but she will need encouragement and patience over the next few months to become proficient.   Pippa is a quick learner though and will benefit from obedience training and has the potential to make a great therapy dog.  Even at her young age, she is confident and comfortable with noises, automatic doors, noisy carts, etc. She loves other animals and people and loves snuggling on the couch with her foster family.  She is not a good match for families looking for an agility dog given her recent surgery. Pippa is a curious puppy and preference given to families with fencing or active leash walkers.  She is not a match for families looking for a pup who can be off-leash. Pippa will need cardiac monitoring in the months and years ahead.  Her first post-surgical recheck will be in two months and more about her heart (and if it has remodeled to an appropriate size) known at that time. At this time, she does not have any other known health challenges. If you live within a 1 hour drive of Boxborough, Massachusetts, are home most of the day, and are willing to take on the responsibilities and fun of a young puppy, Pippa may be the girl for you.
